The Arise Retreat focuses on the core Gospel message, exploring the impact of Jesus' death and resurrection on our lives today. The weekend includes talks from local speakers, time for personal prayer, small group discussions, Mass, opportunities for Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, and free time.
This year's retreat will be at St. Joseph Retreat & Conference Center in Tipton, IN. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 25 and will conclude at 12:00 PM on Sunday, August 27. Any young adults ages 18-39 are welcome to attend.
Fr. Jakupco grew up in Carmel and attended St. Elizabeth Seton. After high school he attended Purdue University before entering seminary to study for the priesthood. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana in 2022. Since his ordination he has served as the parochial vicar at St. Mary’s and St. Ambrose Catholic Churches in Anderson and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.
Sr. Fiat Staley joined the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 2016. She has spent the last few years teaching middle school at St. Boniface in Lafayette and currently serves on the vocation team. She is originally from South Bend and has a degree in philosophy.
Reid is a Catholic husband and father of 5 beautiful children. He has been working in parish ministry for over 10 years and currently coordinates young adult ministry at St. Louis de Montfort parish in Fishers. He appreciates the beauty God has written into creation and thus spends most of his free time in the great outdoors. He is a jack of all trades and master of nothing, including his constant attempts to crack jokes and make people laugh.
